We thoroughly enjoyed our day with you in Edinburgh. It was packed with good information and fun conversation. We especially appreciated the fact that you took us to places like the castle, and then told us to go visit and spend time the next day, rather than spend valuable time with you there doing something we could do on our own.

Dinner at the little restaurant you recommended was WONDERFUL, as was the venison that you suggested. We did go up the street after dinner to the "jam session" or whatever, with all the musicians who seemed to be having as much fun as the listeners.

We plan to return, and thank you for a wonderful introduction to one of our favorite places.

Deb and I finally arrived home yesterday and awoke this morning to a fog bank the likes only seen in Scotland! It brought smiles to our faces remembering the nice visit with had with you and to your lovely country.

Thank you again for you expert conversation as we walked the Royal Mile, partaked in serious Scotch and enjoyed some Italian treats at Al Dentes. We were very pleased to have introduced you to one of our favorite after dinner drinks, Limoncello. We often enjoy some after a dinner with friends while sitting around an outdoor fire in the spring and fall. (which is similar to your summer weather)

We arrived home last night tired but with great memories of our trip. We mentioned several times that our day with you was a highlight. In late July and early August my parents, brother and sister-in-law are taking a cruise with three stops in Scotland. I have recommended that their stop in Edinburgh should include a Royal Mile walking tour with you. They may be getting in touch with you to arrange something. I haven't the details so I will give them your contact information and leave it to them. Thanks again for the time with us. We will remember our time with you for a very long time.

On behalf of all the guys I wanted to thank you for a fantastic time on Saturday! We had a lot of fun getting introduced to the history of Edinburgh. Your knowledge, stories and jokes really brought the city and its history to life! It is a pity there we did not have more time... We will certainly send you some pictures once we get organised.

After the walk and the nice lunch at the Guildford Arms we went to Winton House for some lessons in clay pigeon shooting and a whisky tasting, which were also nice. The weekend had another surprise in store as one of us had to leave in a hurry as his wife went into labour 6 weeks early. While he did not make it back to Germany on time (he flew to London, could not get a connecting flight and spent the night at Heathrow), the baby was born early Sunday morning and all was well: a healthy boy of 2,5 kg named Till.

Thank you again on behalf of all of us and hope to see again at some point in Scotland!

We did have dinner at the Tailend. It was very good. We certainly enjoyed our day with you. Thank you for giving us a Scotsman's tour of your lovely country. I feel closer to my ancestors having seen the area from which they came. I feel closer to my Scots roots having gone on tour with you.

I was so glad when you called while we were at dinner and said you were at the pub. We had so much fun with you - you truly made our trip to Edinburgh. I can't remember how many times the girls raved about how much fun you were to be with and are already talking about wanting to go back. You have become a friend of our family and hope you visit us if ever you are in the Atlanta area. You have to keep us posted on you upcoming trip to New Jersey. We're keeping our fingers crossed that everyting goes well. Talk to you later.

We're home at last and now it's back to reality. Thanks for a wonderful day in Edinburgh. Everyone enjoyed it immensely. I know the itinerary was a bit aggressive; however, you managed to show us as much as possible in our short time there. The golfers truly appreciated seeing St. Andrews.

We wanted to thank you again, too, Bill, for the wonderful day you organized for the three of us while we were in Edinburgh, and for your help and advice regarding our stay there! We are very aware that we got a lot more out of our visit to your fair city than if we would have, had we simply wandered about on our own - your skillfully presented combination of historical facts and entertaining stories about the city and its inhabitants by really brought Edinburgh to life for us. And the Sherwood House was the nicest place we stayed at during our whole trip, thanks for that recommendation!

My group was very very happy with you so we decided to use your services always for our future groups. We have another group for August for the festival they all adults so if you know a better hostel and closer to the city center that you can recomend we can look it and in April when I have the confirmation we will contact you.

Dear Bill,
Thank you for your message. And lots of thanks for being with us and telling so many exciting stories. For all of us it was an unforgettable holiday in Edinburgh.

As the man we met on the tour, told us: “we were very lucky to have you as our tour guide” – I couldn’t agree more. I feel very lucky and grateful, you gave a great tour in all aspects.

I came to Edinburgh for the purpose of getting more knowledge about history, architecture, atmosphere and to have fun - you gave me much more with your humour and exceptional knowledge. THANK YOU for that!

I feel the Edinburgh spirit and soul inside me – your strength is to tell in a way that creates pictures and feelings – and that is cool. And you have a very likeable personality too ... and that is even cooler in these days.

Bill's tour was an excellent out-of-class complement to our University of Stirling module Issues in Moral Philosophy. He carefully prepared and researched an appropriate tour for our visiting international students. The tour gave the students the opportunity to make connections between their classroom instruction and Edinburgh's rich and varied history.

Bill was a more than excellent Tour Guide. He showed us the city of Edinburgh in great style - and he adapted to our ever changing needs and 'group dynamic' very quickly. Futhermore Bill is a very nice guy to have around... Thanks again Bill !!!
